Richard to commit soon?

West Saint Mary (Baldwin, LA) is home to one of the most prolific receivers in the state in 2019 WR Daylon Richard, who recently was named offensive player of the week by The Daily Iberian after he caught 14 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to defending state champion Catholic of New Iberia.
Richard reports multiple offers, but says he wants to keep the identity of every school other than Jackson State close to the vest, at least for the time being.

“My recruiting is open,” he said.  “I’ll go anywhere if it’s the place for me.  The most important thing to me is graduating from college.  That’s most important.  Football is second.

“I’m going to major in global finance.  If everything goes right when I visit, I’m going to commit to Jackson State, but my recruitment is still open.”

Richard originally planned to take an unofficial visit to Jackson State last week, but he decided to push that trip back at least one more week.
“I have interest in some other schools,” he said.  “I plan on taking some unofficial visits, and if things go my way, I’ll take official visits in January.”
Richard also grabbed seven passes for 115 yards in the first half of his team’s blowout win over Delcambre in a key district matchup.
As a junior, he was named second-team all-district in basketball for a squad that was seeded seventh in the 32-team Class 2A bracket.
His specialty this season has been catching short passes from quarterback Taylun Druilhet and using his athletic ability to make defenders miss in the open field.
